MUNICIPAL WATER TREATMENT FACILITY
General Contractors value Montana Ironworks for our solution-focused initiative when projects encounter unforeseen challenges.
PROJECT OVERVIEW
Montana Ironworks welded several new, large diameter intake lines for a water treatment facility. Large diameter pipe provides a challenge in fitting since the pipe’s own weight has a propensity to distort the pipe’s shape. Montana Ironworks’ experienced and certified welders ensured proper pipe fit and welds to meet engineering specifications and comply with nondestructive testing requirements (NDT). Some of the new pipelines were welded in a deep trench significantly below the water table, requiring scheduling collaboration with the General Contractor as they maintained proper shoring for the trench walls and continual water pumping to create a dry work environment.
